FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Core School FeaturesIs EdiWay a school management system?

EdiWay includes the core capabilities expected from school management software, including school setup, learner records, classes, timetables, attendance, pastoral activity, communication and operational services.

It also connects these foundations to wider learning, SEND, family, workforce, commerce and governed AI workflows.

Can different staff members have different access?

Yes. Access can be shaped around the school, user role, assigned classes, learner responsibility and permitted information areas.

A classroom teacher, SENCO, safeguarding lead and operational administrator should not automatically receive the same access.

Can parents access school information?

Linked parents and carers can access information and services approved for their relationship with the learner.

They do not inherit the school leadership or staff interface.

Can external professionals use the platform?

Approved professionals can be invited into defined learner-specific relationships where that functionality is enabled.

Their access can be limited by purpose, scope and review period rather than granting unrestricted school access.

Does EdiWay replace safeguarding or professional decisions?

No. EdiWay can help authorised users organise evidence, records and follow-up activity.

Safeguarding findings, statutory decisions and professional judgements remain the responsibility of appropriately authorised people and organisations.

Can schools begin with core features?

EdiWay is designed to let schools begin with the operational workflows most relevant to them and connect additional platform areas as their needs and access develop.

Feature availability may depend on the school’s subscription, configuration, permissions and current testing status.
